Production & Fabrication Work flow

Project Workflow

Fabrication ERP Operations

In Peacksoft ERP's Production Management module, the flow of production from initial customer enquiry to delivery is streamlined and tracked in a comprehensive manner. Below is a detailed breakdown of the Production Enquiry to Delivery Process:

1. Production Enquiry:
A production enquiry is raised for a finished product from a prospective customer. This enquiry triggers the planning and design phase for manufacturing the requested goods.

2. Planning and Design of Finished Goods:
The design process begins with the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) for the finished product. This includes defining:
Raw materials and intermediate goods required.
Material properties like length, width, thickness, material grade.
Quantities of each material, raw weight and finished weight, as well as expected scrap.
BOM Design can be imported from a CSV file for efficiency.
The design BOM is verified and confirmed to generate the final BOM for production.

3. Process Design and Estimation:
The next step involves the process design and estimation for both semi-finished and finished goods.
This includes defining the process stages, which are confirmed as Routing Operations in the ERP.
Routing involves specifying the sequence of operations required to manufacture the goods.

4. Pre-Production Process (PPP):
In the Pre-Production Process (PPP), raw materials are procured and converted into processed materials for semi-finished goods as per the BOM.
This is an essential preparation step before the final production can begin.

5. Sales Quotation and Order:
After the BOM is finalized, a sales quotation is raised and presented to the customer.
Upon confirmation, the quotation is converted into a sales order.

6. Work Order Creation and Nested Sub-Work Orders:
A work order is confirmed from the sales order.
Based on the finalized BOM for the finished goods, nested sub-work orders are created to handle the production of semi-finished goods before the main work order is completed.
Each sub-work order follows the lifecycle stages such as:
Created, Issue Request, Input Transferred, Production, Quality, Delivery, and Completed.

7. Material Requisition and Procurement:
As per the BOM, the material requisition process begins for raw materials.
Raw materials are transferred from the store department to the work center.
If additional raw materials are required, a purchase requisition is generated for procurement.

8. Production Scheduling:
A production schedule is initiated from the work order based on current production capacity.
Production Control Records are created, and the routing job tasks are automatically added for tracking.

9. Production Job Task Monitoring:
Each job task in the production process is monitored with:
Scheduled start and end dates.
Labor assigned to the task.
Machine work hours required to complete the job.

10. Quality Inspection:
After production, finished goods undergo a quality inspection initiated from the work order.
Only after passing the inspection are the finished goods authorized for delivery.

11. Delivery and Shipping:
The final step in the process is the delivery and shipping of the finished goods to the customer.
Shipping details are managed within the system, with links to the original work order for seamless tracking.

T his entire process ensures that all stages of production, from the initial enquiry through to final delivery, are efficiently managed and documented within Peacksoft ERP, allowing for full visibility, control, and optimization of production activities.

Salient Features

  • Production Planning and Control (PPC) – User can schedule each production job task against machine and track their completion.
  • BOM – Peacksoft supports multi-level BOM. Based on multi-level BOM, it can automatically create sub level work order from final work order and sub level production record from finished good production.
  • Batch Processing of Semi finished good BOM and routing – large number of semi finished good BOM and routing are completed in batch mode by the backend.
  • Pre Production Processing (PPP) – Raw material conversion from bigger size to designed size used in Semi finished good BOM. Fabrication industry uses PPP process before semi finished good BOM is completed.
  • Production Job Tasks Management – Jobs tasks are added automatically or this manually keeps details of labor and machine hours, production status, quantity produced and overall cost.
  • Job Order, Goods In/Out Management – Production can happen from Job order of IN type. Job Order of Out type is for getting outsourcing job done by third party. Goods In/Out transaction are all managed as per standard workflow.
